It Takes a Village to Launch a Dream

It Takes a Village to Launch a Dream

An unexpected reminder that kindness, encouragement, and connection can make all the difference.

Nobody can quite prepare you for what it feels like to start a new business. You spend months thinking, planning, creating, changing your mind, and starting over, all while wondering if anyone will understand what you’re trying to build. Then one day you finally put it out into the world, and you wait. Will people get it? Will they like it? Will anyone actually want what I’ve created? Those questions have been running through my mind ever since I launched The Gathering Concierge.

What I didn’t expect was the support, and oh my goodness, the support! Friends, family, former coworkers, Facebook friends I haven’t seen in years, and people I’ve met throughout my career have all reached out with kind words and congratulations. Some offered advice, some shared my website, and others simply took a moment to tell me they’re cheering me on. Every one of those gestures has meant more to me than they probably realize.

Why I Started The Gathering Concierge

If you know me, you know I’ve always loved bringing people together. Whether it’s dinner with friends, a celebration at work, a neighborhood event, or a special occasion, I’ve always believed some of life’s best memories happen when people take the time to connect. After years in hospitality, event planning, and community building, I also know how much work goes into making those moments happen. There are the invitations, the food, the drinks, the timing, and all the little details nobody notices until something goes wrong!

I genuinely enjoy all of that, but I know not everyone does. Some people love entertaining but dread the planning, some have wonderful ideas but don’t know where to begin, and some are just too busy juggling work and family to take on one more project. That’s exactly why I created The Gathering Concierge. My Gathering Blueprints take the stress and guesswork out of hosting, with interactive plans, timelines, menus, checklists, activities, and the little hospitality touches that make people feel welcome.

I don’t believe a gathering has to be expensive, elaborate, or picture-perfect to be meaningful. It just needs to bring people together.

A Little Reminder About Supporting Small Businesses

One thing this experience has taught me is that supporting a small business doesn’t always mean making a purchase. Sometimes it’s sharing a Facebook post, mentioning a business to a friend, or introducing someone to a person who might need their services. Sometimes it’s simply sending a quick message that says, “Keep going!” Those gestures may seem small, but when you’re the one building something new, they’re anything but.

I know The Gathering Concierge isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. Plenty of people love planning every last detail of their own celebrations, and I love that for them! But somewhere out there is someone who wants to host a dinner party and doesn’t know where to start. It might be an HR professional trying to create more meaningful connections among employees, an HOA board looking for fresh ideas to bring neighbors together, or a community leader hoping to plan an event people will actually look forward to. Those are the people I’m hoping to reach.

One Little Favor

If you’ve been following along on this journey, first of all, thank you. If you’d like to help me spread the word, I’ve put together a little page that makes it easy, with ready-to-share messages for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn plus a few other simple ways to support The Gathering Concierge. There’s no pressure and no expectation, just a sincere invitation to help this new business find the people who might need it.

A Little Help Goes a Long Way — Here’s How You Can Help

From My Heart, Thank You

I started The Gathering Concierge because I believe in the power of connection, and the support I’ve received has been a beautiful reminder of exactly why. People showing up for people, friends encouraging friends, communities helping one another... isn’t that what gathering is all about? I don’t know exactly where this journey will lead, but I’m excited to find out, and I’m so grateful to have so many wonderful people cheering me on along the way.

Because life’s too short not to gather! ❤️

With gratitude,
